Tried a GSXR.

.......and I really wish that I hadn't.

I just went to some of the practise for the British Superbikes at Brands. While walking out my little boy wanted to go and sit on a GSXR at the Suzuki stand, which I let him.

The problem is that as they had all 3 there I decided that it would be rude not to sit on them too and was sort of hoping they wouldn't feel right and to be fair the 1000 and the 750 didn't.

My big mistake was trying the 600 for size - it felt perfect and more comfortable for my short legs than my SV - now I really want one more than ever, but the insurance is £1700 fully comp - what can I do?

You can get it cheaper than that? Trying ringing around as well as just quoting online. My ZX-6R was £1500 online with Bennetts but £700 when I rang for a quote.

£1700 is too much though, I thought £1100 for the 10R was way too much.

Surprised you found the 600 the most comfortable. Isn't the 750 identical in its dimensions? Personally I find the litre bike far more comfortable.

they did feel different although to be honest the one I have always wanted is the 600 and it was in the colour I would want too which helped.

I was amazed at just how light it felt and how much lower it was.........

I probably could get it a bit cheaper, but I am already insured and have no NCB yet - that quote was my existing company.

Shame, because I really want one. Saw an 07 reg K7 one the other day brand new Red/White £5395.....

Yeah I was in the same situation. They wanted £700 to upgrade my SV policy for the remaining 3 or 4 months or if I started a new policy but lost my 8/9 months NCB it would be £700 for the year!

The 10R with 1yr NCB is only £1100!

I was 30 on the 6R and didn't have a garage and as I said it was £700. You can do it.

Listen to the voices. Get your credit card out!

Don't worry I've already justified it to myself - just the missus to convince and actually even hers eyes lit up when she saw me on the 600........

I even bought her, her own helmet whilst we were there so the convincing might be easier.

Anyone want to make me an offer for my SV?

Good luck with convincing the missus. I took my wifey along with me to look at a black 07 600 and she liked me on it so much she said i could buy one! For some reason i have held back. I like to do a bit of touring and i dont think thats the right bike. Looks the dogs but cant do everything the dog does
