I got mine for £121 fitted, and that was expensive compared with a lot of places, but these guy's help me out so many times for nothing after I do something stupid to the bike, so I dont mind going to him and paying that little bit more.

90-100 quid is the cheapest you'll get the tyre, depending upon size, I'm assuming 180 or 190 width for a Blackbird. Ride in ride out fitting bargain on about 15 quid, or a fiver for a loose wheel. It's not a bad price but with some hunting on the web/ebay you could probably do it cheaper if you can be bothered and you think the savings worth taking up your time.

That would have been a 160/60/17 though, a bit cheaper than a Blackbird tyre.

Nope! It's expensive for an 020. Mike paid £115 for his 014 and I paid £120 for my 2CT ride in ride out. It's the same wheel size on the blackbrid - 180x17x55

Dont mean to preach mate but why don't you register with the cbr forum? You'll get all the advice and prices you need for your blackbird. There's a guy who does the cheapest tyres on the planet - but only for registered members.

The 020L's a non-standard fitment isn't it, built for stupidly fast heavy bikes? Those always command a premium...

It totally defeats me why anyone would still choose 020s these days for any other reason, since they're so similiar to the Strada/Roadtec, but less grippy, less long-lasting, less good in the rain and generlaly more expensive, but who am I to judge, considering how much I spend on tat :rolleyes:

:stupid: I know I had the 020 with a shallower profile Dunlop on the front, but I have to say the 020 I used to have on the back was all of the above, just generally lacked grip, and I actually preferred the old rear Dunlop.

Having said that I know three guys with Blackbirds who swear by them, including one tyre dealer. Maybe the extra weight helps matters? Don't know.

Don't get me wrong, in its day they must have been a revelation, they're not drastically far off the pace even now IMO... I'm just uncharitable because I tried a Z6 first, and that's about 4 years newer in design.
