How quick was that! (ordering parts)

See, the mods have been at it again with the brackets thing!

Anyway.

Yesterday, probably around 11am, I ordered some parts from www.intobikes.co.uk. Specifically, I ordered brake pads, Dot4, and some new valve caps (since the tyre man ate my last one).

I woke up this morning, alarm went off at 7am, stumbled down stairs to find a packet behind the door with my name on it. Funny, what's this? Valve caps!

Damn that's fast! Yes, it's not the entire order, but blooming fast! Especially when you take into account the fact that the postie usually doesn't get there until around 12!

Big up the intobikes boys & girls!

It was just the fact that they got something to me so damned fast. If they had the rest of the order to hand, they'd of probably shipped that too. Also, it wasn't a courier, it was Royal Mail themselves.

Why am I doing the brakes? Well I did the 15k service last weekend, and my bike is actually closer to 20k than 15k. I checked the pads as a matter of course on the service & they could do with changing. As far as I'm aware, it's the same pads front & back as it's had all it's life.

Why skimp on the brakes, it's the thing that stops you hitting the traffic in front. I'm also going to be upgrading the lines to braided ones when I get chance. The pads I bought are just organic ones, so no major deal, but something that needs doing. I'm also repairing my brake pedal this weekend, so figured it'd be a good time to do the pads.

Oh OK, So have you finally overtaken my mileage? off the road now at 17,500.
It's just that the fluid should be good for 2 years so I should be doing it before you and I haven't yet. Didn't know about your new lines. Anyway, good observation = shouldn't be wearing out your brakes

The fluid at this stage is just so that I have some so that I can top-up if needed.

Just to quash Stu's comments some more.

I walked in this evening, pads & fluid waiting for me :D

Also, my new rearset (thanks to DoubleD) had arrived. I got in at about 6:30. New pads are fitted, rear set fitted, brakes are bled. Test ride is complete.

That's now freed a fair amount of time on saturday :D
