Dealer 'Deals'

I'm looking at a K6 Sport in a local dealer, I've never bought a new bike before (only cars) what deals can you usually get out of a main dealer on the advertised price (not MRP)?

i did a kinda cool deal where i got the bike cheaper for taking the 0% finance out instead of paying cash, cos they got a finance commission for it.

i also got a 1st service free and a seat cowl plus the lowers for 1/2 price on a k5

the best thing to do is barter ... if you've bought cars before then you'll be okay

Do an internet trawl to find out what the going dealer price is for the bike you are after. Prices can vary a bit and it's good ammo when you're haggling to show them an advert and say " Well these guys are a lot cheaper, maybe I'll go to them instead".

HTH.

check out Cupar Suzuki and see what their price is.

See if your boys match it.

cupar done me a great deal when i was in buying my stuff! ok was pretty much buying all my gear, but they were a few hundred cheaper on the base bike price (got a sport for £3999) free service, years AA cover for free, plus when i bought my lid, scottoiler, crash bungs etc.... they fitted the bit for no extra and gave me what turned out to be about 20% odd discount!!!
would def reccomend them to anyone!! oh and even delivered the bike to me for free now i remember!! great service form everyone in there too!!

PS- i'm not on commission!! just so pleased with all there help!!

You want to remember the things you get for free as standard so you aren't duped into believing you've got a fantastic deal though - first service is always labour free (about £25 parts I think), they have to supply road tax, the year's AA cover is also standard. So if they trot out those it's quite good to know they're not doing it out of the kindness of their heart...!

Anyone know what the chances of getting a CAT 1 alarm fitted in the price are?

Looking for an SV650S myself today but noone seems to be answering their phones! Probably all out enjoying the bank holiday weather. :)

So far a K6 at £4199 with 0% and free del with free crash bobbin fitting is the only info I have. Didn't try to push yet as not got any comparisons. In the silver though, but I haven't seen the silver 'in the flesh' so can't tell whether I will like it or not. Seat cowl and lower fairings come as standard so the '£500 worth of extras' bull is exactly that.

I will keep hunting but if any dealers looking at this thread you are welcome to try and do better! :D

my local dealer has an ex demo for sale its a 2006 with 2200 miles in silver and is up for 3500, i got it down to 3000 with 0% finance and will get the restriction kit free, im also gonna save a large deposit as to keep all the payments down so that will probs be 2500 for a near on new bike although that is with my fzr400 being traded in but i can get the sv650s sport down to 4250 without a trade in with another 500 off for my bike and can have it in blue which is what i want, so its a new bike for 3750 lol, bargin
