Wow(Fuel Exhaust)

Now its all sorted and that. As soon as i put the exhaust on i started her up with baffle in listened sed hmm nice, but then it jus exploded and popped out, seems i had a problem, but felt like leaving it as ut was lol  All in all very very pleased and £140 well spent.

I know Baph has done the test baffle in baffle out but does the exhaust have any effect on petrol consumption?

IMO, when combined with other factors, yes.

Those other factors being things like (but not exclusively) air intake (such as snorkel), TPS (on a pointy), cable/throttle body balance/sync, ECU map, humidity of the air, barometric pressure at ground level, temperature of fuel, and probably a whole host of other things.

Probably the biggest effect is that it sounds so nice you want to twist your right hand more, thus using more fuel ;)

OR it sounds like you're driving it harder than you actually are, so you, in fact, don't drive it as hard.

Could be a bit of both I recon. Off the line I tend to twist more but once settled it just sounds so nice I'm pleased.

Just got my CCC can and I think once I go on a nice day out with the lads I will just white knuckle it as usual.

Who the hell worries about fuel consumption anyway...It's a motorcycle and fun like this doesn't come cheap - live with it and enjoy.

I've never kept any lists or counted how much motorcycling has cost me - if I knew then I'd probably give it up for economic reasons. All I know is how much the bikes cost me and what my insurance company wants each year, I count everything else as incidental losses.
