Persoanlised registration update

OK... I am about to buy a personalised reg plate for my SV to match the one on my car (yes gay I know etc).

The question I have is what happens when you come to sell the bike and you want to keep the plate for your next bike? What is involved? Whats the cost and how does the the old bike you are getting rid of get a new plate to replace the one that you are transferring etc etc.

Someone must have done this before. :smt021 :smt021

(I have never had to do it with the car so I don't know)

It's alot harder to transfer from bike to bike, my dad has retained his numberplate for now and is going to transfer it from his car to bike soon. The retaining fee he was charged was £105, alot of dosh me thinks.

The price of vanity. People pay it, so it must be worth it to them...;)

Put it on retention and then transfer it to whichever vehicle you want The DVLA normally re-issue the original registration back to the donor vehicle
I've had mine on bikes, cars and trucks and never had any problems, but for the life of me I can't remember the costs involved as it has been on this bike for two years,bike-bike
