Wireless music strwaming question
 

Hi all,

I just bought one of these....

and wonder if it will work with the Phillips Steamium I just got.

I have a desktop PC hard wired to the internet and want to use tyhe D-link to stream music from the PC to the Phillips thingy. Should that work, or is the D-link only for recieving wireless internet into the computer?

It should work AFAIK.

As you're not using the wi-fi card to connect to the internet, the Philips device should be able to use it for an ad-hoc (device to device) connection to stream music stored on your PC.

You might need to download Windows Media Connect to manage the streaming, unless the Philips thing comes with it's own software utility.

Both support 802.11g, so shoudl see each other & talk no worries.
