Do you give it one finger or two ...(braking)

.. or 3 or all 4?

On the front brake that is - not your {smut filter enabled} :smt036

Saw a pro racer on telly (think it was some Japanese guy in MotoGP)... used his 3 outside fingers (i.e. all but his index, which was still wrapped round the twistgrip) ... most unorthodox, but it obviously works 8)

3 if I'm on my bike, 4 if I'm riding one of Liz's

I thought it was Nakano that used the outside 3, it'll be him or Tamada though..

Like Jodie Marsh, I used to think the more the merrier so 4 was the optimum number. However (since sorting my brakes out properly) I usually now use 2 unless I panic!

Its unorth but the three outside fingers can give more brake power as they are further from the brake pivot point, the index finger has more strength to control the throttle movment.

Indeed, that's how I accounted for it ;) ... so after seeing it, I tried it :D ... its a bit weird at first .. but actually reasonably natural after a very short time ... :smt004

I personally use 2 fingers though, generally 'covering' the brake with one unless there are no corners or traffic about then I don't bother ...

This I suspect is the most common configuration ... darn #-o.. I can't retrospectively add a poll ... are you able to add a finger count pole to this thread TSM plz?!!? :-k

2 so it alows me to blip the throttle while I'm braking and changing down.

Ever since my off, only use two, and find I get far better control. Mind you I don't brake much anyway

Nice one for the poll TSM :notworthy:

... but what the hell is 50/50 ... :D .. I think we need 1 finger in the list too ;)

Or if you are real cool you have a thumb brake!! :D

Looks like the two finger gang (those with finesse) are winning so far.

How long until 'If I'm going to grab it properly I might as well use all four' gets a vote?
