Apologies to the Silver SV1000s on A2

I have to apologise to the Silver SV1000s rider on the A2 this morning, just hope you are a member of this forum.

I was attempting to keep up with the thou and not doing a bad job until we approach the kidbrooke area where a Varadero moved over to let the thou past, I glanced over to the Varadero and took my eyes off the rod for a split second - BIG MISTAKE!

There is a camera just past this point which the thou rider had slowed down for, but which I hadn't allowed for due to my glancing over at the Varadero.

I grabbed as much brake as I could manage and luckily remembered the engine braking to and in a ridiculously long skid managed to pull up about an inch (if that) away from the thou's back wheel. I can't imagine what the riders thoughts were seeing my bike getting bigger in the mirrors. Just lucky I had my dark visor on otherwise the panic on my face would have been obvious.

I spent the rest of the journey shaking like a leaf.

Anyway as I said, if you are on this forum, SORRY.

It did however serve as a very timely reminder on just how important total concentration is and how no matter how confidant I am becoming on the bike there is always going to be situation for which I am not fully prepared.
