Paddock Stand!

Mods, move this to somewhere better if need be.

Now, i need a paddock stand - and it has to be the one with cups, as i have a striped thread on the LHS screw thingy on the swing arm, so a peg-type one is outta the question!

Can anyone recomend one thats quite easy to use? I was gonna be dead flash and get a harris one for £65, but is it worth it?

Matt

[edit] moved to ancillaries, but i cant delete this thread, mods?]

HG used to do a Micron stand for £20...dead cheap and works a treat. I used to lift the bike on the stand using the cups all by my lonesome.
Alternatively you could get yourself and ABBA stand which IMHO is a better option than the £65 Harris stand;)

TIP; don't get one with rubber coated cups - they slide up the swingarm !
I have one, and need to get some bobbins

As others have said, splash a little more cash and get an Abba stand. You really won't regret it. They are so easy to do solo and the bike is rigid when on it.

Or you could just put a longer bolt through the damaged hole and secure it with a nut. Maybe:confused:

The cup ones are a pain with the Sv cos the brake line always gets in the way.

I got a cheap cup one at the NEC which was fine for the job. Just gotten the hooks and bobbins because of what Pete said.

Busters/MandP do them new, delivered for that price.

Got a set myself (and bought hooks from ghostbikes for £9.9 delivered as I have cotton reels on the swingarm), I'm sure they're not the best stands in the world, but they get the bike off the ground, what else do you want?

J&S £20 and works just as well as anything else.
plus you dont feel bad about abusing it.

Also if your shifting between brighton and enfield im on the way if you want to use it for a few hours ( nice big empty garage =D )
