What soft panniers can you recommend?
I'm trying to find decent soft panniers for the sv but have no idea which ones are any good or a rip off or what.........
How well do yours fit in your sv? I'll just be using them for a few weeks holiday so they don't need to last a lifetime. And are soft panniers easy to remove from the bike quickly? Cheers for any info/recommendations |
Re: What soft panniers can you recommend?
Only comment I will make is that the storm covers of my oxford panniers shredded on the M6 on my way back from the N/S, strange that luckpants had earlier commented that his storm covers had shredded when he went to France, totally different make I think, just one of those things called nice idea but totally useless in practice.

Oxford have gotta be best for the money. Personally I love the Bagster range. It is just really expensive.

Re: What soft panniers can you recommend?
I have a set of Buffalo sports throw overs. They are big, expand even bigger and the waterproof covers have never ripped. Unlike the Oxford ones, which are made with a clear plastic window in the side, the Buffalo ones are made of proper coated nylon. The only issue I have had was one of the tie down points stitching coming undone. No probs, 5 minutes with needle and thread, job done. J&S Accessories have lots, dunno if they are the best prices, but gives you an idea.

Re: What soft panniers can you recommend?
I've got Oxford Sovereigns which, like it or not, will last a lifetime! They're big enough to take me and Mrs Tiger on holiday for a week and secure very nicely to the SV. Discontinued now mind but if you can find 'em on ebay I would highly recommend.

Re: What soft panniers can you recommend?
Thanks for all the info guys. I was looking at the oxford first time panniers but they don't have as much storage space as the oxford sports panniers.
One thing though, how do they actually attach to the bike? Can't see ant straps or anything in this pic from J & S Accessories: http://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/Picts...2100000001.jpg |
