Seat Cowl Blanking Plates.

Hi all,

I bought my bike about a couple of months ago and this weekend I decided to remove the pillion handles and put in the blanking plates. I took off the pillion handle and there does not seem anywhere to screw in the blanking plates.....

Does that mean when I bought the bike the guy forgot to give me some sort of bracket to put them on with?

Anybody know where I can get one from?

Hi all,

I am still stuck on this, does anybody know where I can find a full parts list so I might be able to find the bracket....

Anybody got a seat cowl with bklanking plates, who can find out the part number on theirs?

Re: Seat Cowl Blanking Plates.

my seat cowl came with a bracket to replace the grab rail, as the cowl need to be secure, and that has the screw holes for the blanking plates.

Don't think you can fit them without buying a full seat cowl kit from Suzuki. The grab rail holds the rear seat's tongue down. Wihtout it, the rear seat falls off! The Suzuki seat cowl kit has the replecement "Holder" which has the blanking plate holes in it.

See here;

The silver bit is the new holder

with the holes you need.

The bottom of the seat and cowl both have this white plastic affair, the original grab rail, and replacement cowl kit rail hold the lower, middle white bit of plastic down. I can't find a part number, but the Suzuki website lists the cowl kit, if I remember, it's about £45 all in.

Cheers for that chaps !! Looks like I should of checked all the bits before the seller left for Oz, not sure I want to fork out 45 squid just for the bracket...
