Just got hit by a car
 

I was filtering past a column of non moving traffic when some guy attempted a U turn :rolleyes: . I was going about 15mph and the front bumper clipped my foot shearing the toeslider off my left sidi and snapping the gear lever . He gave me his contact details and then I proceeded to get the bike home using the first 2 gears through some of the worst weather I've ridden in. The skies opened and there was atleast an half an inch of water on the dual carriageway and my right boot was submerged in water going around this one roundabout :smt095

Luckily no damage to my 4 month old GSXR750 apart from the lever, didn't even think of looking damage down to the car. Also lucky I wasn't going 10mph faster or I would have been sliding down the road along with the bike.

Just hope I can get a lever fitted in time for saturday when I'm off to the nurburgring :shock:

how annoying. hope you get some new boots and a gear lever from the car driver!

omg that rain was bloody heavy.

that has to suck, the guy sounds reasonable but if it should come to legals blows make sure you check out the case of "Davis vs Shrogin" 2006

The guy was pretty apolegetic and was glad I wasn't hurt, I'm hoping he'll settle it cash and doesn't do another U turn on reconsidering his liability :smt021

Get a quote from at least two garages, cos I dont think he will beleive how much a gear lever will cost if you tell him by person....

Close call mate, glad you're OK. As squirrel said, it's a roll of the dice in these situations.

What is a new lever, about 60 quid?
