Rough Shifting??

Hi I have a 2002 sv650 and lately I've been noticing that while shifting into second gear its rough, especially when shifting down into it when slowing down. It does the same thing when I'm in neutral and shift down to 1st gear (from a stop). I did notice that my clutch lever had a little too much play in it so I tightened it to spec; it didn't really help me much though. Any ideas what can be causing this? Thanks

Your bike could be due an oil change!

Or its got to much oil in it, alternatively a loose or improperly adjusted chain will have an effect on your gear changes.

Check your chain slack.
