Rear Shock upgrade

I've recently acquired a pointy sv which I'm in the process of modifying and turning into a pure track bike.
I'm looking to change the shock but don't want to break the bank by fitting a Ohlins unit. The original has done a lot of miles. Does anyone know of a less painful alternative that would be as good or nearly so ? Would it be worth having the original unit re-built ?

Nitron shock and hyperpro progressive spings. worked a treat on mine.

But is the gsxr shock a lot better straight from the factory and which gsxr are we talking about ??

Not totally 100% about this but I think the newer GSXR1000 But do a search it has been covered loads of times!

Oops, no not the one Northy got.
I didn't find it....one reason being I didn't remember to check :shaking:
