painting stone?
just finished painting my breezeblock garage with that sandtex stuff & a fluffy roller, anywho it needed 3 coats as it did not cover very well, now the other wall is quite rough render and it looks as if its going to be a pig of a job, any tips on the best way to do it?

Re: painting stone?
I had the exact same problem when painting my garage, I tried the roller option initially and it didnt give a good covering, I then painted the remainder (3 walls + roof) with a PAINT BRUSH :( this left small black dots everywhere which you really need to stab at to get paint into.
So I can offer no assistance basically:(. It took me bloody ages with a brush to get the finish to look good. :help: |
Re: painting stone?
If it's quite rough maybe you can spray it, that will get everywhere?

Re: painting stone?
One of those cheap spray guns they sell in B&Q?

Re: painting stone?
Ditto the sprayer. You can hire em quite cheap. Used one to spray the breeze block internal walls of my garage with white emulsion. Only problem might be that the sandtex is too thick to spray well. Can it be watered down?

Re: painting stone?
Wait for Bob-a-Job week and get the scouts to do it for nearly nothing - just a glass of squash and a 5p piece.:albino:
