New Tyre Rotation Wrong Way
About 300 miles ago,i had a new set of Metzler Z6's fitted at Micheldever Tyres.
Just now noticed thay have fitted the rear the wrong way around, going by the rotation arrow on the tyre. I am sure they will put this right, but could this have caused any adverse wear on the tyre? Do they have the rotation just for the pattern to be effective in the wet? Mike |
Re: New Tyre Rotation Wrong Way
It is somewhat important, the grooves are angled to push water to the side, if they're fitted backwards the water will be forced to the centre which is absolutely the last thing you want obviously. If you look at the front, the grooves do go the other way as the braking force works opposite to the driving force of the rear wheel. I'm sure they'll change it for you as you say.

Re: New Tyre Rotation Wrong Way
I've got a feeling the belting is directional too, i.e. the way the plies of the carcass are laid up in manufacture. Get it changed, Micheldever are a very reputable outfit and it should be no problem.
