Pirelli Diablo Starda tyre pressures

According to their site pressures for sv650s are F33 R36

As I am a keen pie eater ( 16 stones worth of mainly pork pies ) , I was thinking of setting front 36 Rear 42 (which is the norm for most tyres these days )
Any one using 36/42 on their Diablo tyres ?

Cheers Steve

I know people that do, and have tried these pressures myself but found them too hard and made the tires skitish (is that even a word?) so run standard.

My ex runs Diablo Stradas on her Daytona 600 at 34 fr - 38 rr, and she drops them down 5psi for track use. I'd set yours to the Suzuki recommended 2-up pressures if you're in the 16 stone bracket, ignore what Pirelli say for just this once and go with a litle more common sense being as you're a big bloke.

If you'd had Michelins I'd say run them 2 to 3 psi lower than recommended, as Michelins tend to have very stiff sidewalls and benefit from a slightly lower pressure.

I used Roadtecs, which are essentially the same tyre, some minor differences but the carcass and construction is the same... Always preferred 36/39, they had a bit of a disconnected feel below that, which some say is sidewall flex- I've no idea what causes it though. Above that, I found they lost a bit of grip. I dropped them to 30/33 once for a trackday and ended up borrowing a pump to put them back up, they felt like they were flat.

Re: Pirelli Diablo Starda tyre pressures

I run my Stradas at 33F 36 R on the road, and I weigh about 12.5-13 stone with my kit.

Dropping to 31F 32/33R for trackdays seems to be fine, with a little snotting up at the edges.

Got a new front the other day and the tyre shop inflated the front to 36, felt fine, but little feedback, so sticking to 33F.

I need new rear tyre, a bit squared off, but front fine.Has anyone ran two different tyres front and rear, i am using pirelli Diablo stradas at the mo but was thinking of a Metzler Z6(is that correct) on rear.Would this create handling problems on would it not matter?
Sorry if this is a stupid question but still on a learning curve.
By the way i ran 33F36R was recommened by guy who set up race bikes seems fine to me at 12.5 stone

I ran my Z6s (which are similar to the Diablo stradas) at 33/36 - the recommended for the SV. I weigh about 12 stone in kit. I've tried 36/42 on the SV, it feels well nasty, however it is just right on the GSX750. I also used to run a psi or two above on the SV rear, that worked ok too, made it feel a bit different but good.

Re: Pirelli Diablo Starda tyre pressures

The Z6 and the Pirelli Diablo Strada are essentially the same tyre according to some tyre dealers (mine sold me the cheaper of the two), same carcass and rubber but with different tread patterns, so they should be fine running together.

Thanks Tim ,the reason i asked was that a lot of people on here seem to use z6's and as i need a new rear shortly thought i would give it a try
