Lupo's got his Op tomorrow...

My little boy is going in to be neutered tomorrow. He is a week shy of being 11 months old bless him... time has really flown!!!

Bit nervous about leaving my boy in someone elses hands and i do have a slightly guilty feeling about having his spuds lopped off http://www.icebaymals.co.uk/forums/i...es/boxedin.gif and i know he'll hate me for it but i know its for the best.

I think i have asked as many questions as possible but we have our pre-op check where i can ask the vet face to face instead of over the phone. He's having a nice breakfast this morning of Tripe and Nature Diet his 2 favourite things http://www.icebaymals.co.uk/forums/i...es/biggrin.gif as he's not allowed to eat after 8pm. I know its a simple op, but i guess its a "mum's" job to worryhttp://www.icebaymals.co.uk/forums/i...es/redface.gif

Arctic breeds don't do so well on anasthetic so i am a little worried but i am sure he'll be fine and in good hands :)

Had Kasper neutered last week and he is going for his stichies to be removed tomorrow evening. He has been wearing his collar (HMV dog) type of thing since last Tuesday when we left the vets.

First day he came back he was a bit dizzy from the anesthetic but since then he has been absolutely fine! So don't worry too much about it

Thats what i have to keep telling myself.

It will make other dogs be a bit nicer to him as he wont smell like a big dominant dog (even though he thinks he is), it will take the stress out of b*tch's being in season as he wont be as interested and wont try and escape to get to them or scream his head off when one of them walks past. It will also take away the threat of testicular cancer which is quite common
in dogs when they are older.

Not only that but Malamutes are known for their same sex aggression... Lupo has never shown aggression to another dog, and to be honest i don't think he will, but with him working with his best mate Ranger, mates since Lupo was 15 weeks old, and Ranger being entire, i don't want them falling out as i wont have a team for the winter rally seaon.

Get him some Neuticles put in so he's still got something to play with :D (without wanting to stereotype, sometimes the phrase "americans are wierd" seems relevant)

Our little Jasper, is also minus his family jewels. It was a domestic female decision as he would tend to make a little mess when ever he was happy. Both David and I would wince whenever they would talk about having him done. BTH, I don't really think he has missed them.

He is also minus his anal glands as these tended to get infected and after 3 bouts the vet advised their removal. That was a bit traumatic as for 6 weeks afterwards whenever he was exited he would leave a little present.

Thankfully that one did clear up once he regained control.
