A838 or A836 from Durness to Lairg - which is better

Still planning my Scotland trip, which road is better from Durness to Lairg, the A838 via Loch Shin or the A836 via Loch loyal?

Both look to have some nice curves from my map, and the usual scenic green highlighting, along with every other road in this part of Scotland :)

Cheers,

Tim

I'd take the north coast road to be honest. It's excellent.

The stretch from Tongue to Lairg i've never done, but my mate had to go to Altna-'F**KING'-harra quite a lot through his work and it didn't get that nickname by accident! So expect extreme remoteness unlike anywhere else in the UK.
