What paperwork is needed for a first MOT?

My bike is now 3 years old and needs her first MOT. As I obviously don't have last years certificate, which paperwork (if any) do I need to take along to get my bike MOT'd?

I'm sure this has been covered before, but the search function says "MOT" is too short a term!

TIA,

Ceri

True, but a V5 might be helpful to the garage? as they need to input your chassy No. etc.

Definitely V5, took mine a couple of weeks ago for first MOT, garage said i needed it at the time of booking the appointment so they can log it on the system.

Just took the bike in (also first MOT) and that was it, 20 minutes, £25. Was worried there'd be niggles with it but no faults found. Same again next year, I hope.

They really like to have the V5 as some bikes have hard to read VINs and if it doesnt match up when he types it into the computer it causes **** for the tester and he can't proceed. It's not a prob for those bikes with nice VIN plates but where it's stamped in, the rust bubbles the paint up and makes it hard to read. I'd rather have the tester on my side :) hehe

True, but they're suppoosed to take the numbers from the vehicle, not paperwork.
