Serviced, Bunged and Bubbled
My SV continues to entertain me. I had the first service done today and some R&G bungs fitted to the bike. On the ride home i took advantage of being allowed to rev it more and have to say i'm very impressed. How much more of that surge is there after 8k?
The bungs nearly got used straight away tho as i nearly dropped the bike in the car park at the dealers ! When I got home my Double Bubble had been delivered it so I fitted that and rode about, it really makes a big difference and was a good buy. Now i need some torque settings for the bits i'm going to remove for my helibars. Headset nut, Triple clamp bolts, brake and clutch levers. Also do I just re tighten the throttle and switchgear with a screwdriver till i'm happy they won't fall off? Cheers in advance. |
Re: Serviced, Bunged and Bubbled
Download the manuals from the home page, they have all the torque settings listed.
Manual Link Cheers Mark. |

Re: Serviced, Bunged and Bubbled
Morning all.
Torque for the steering stem nut is 90nm. the yoke pinch bolts are all 23 nm. Just do up the brake & clutch levers until they're secure. Cheers. |
Re: Serviced, Bunged and Bubbled

Where did you order your double bubble from?

Re: Serviced, Bunged and Bubbled
It's an MRA Double bubble from HPS. Looks nice and seems to really cut the wind down (i'm 6ft 2) Fitted very easily too.

Re: Serviced, Bunged and Bubbled
I managed to get a brand new Snap-On (not Blue Point) torque wrench of e-Bay a month or two ago for £50. Got to be patient though but well worth the wait. If you're extra lucky, they also do one with a flexible head which pop up occasionally.
Here's a non-flex one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Snap-On-Tools-...QQcmdZViewItem |
