Fs 2000 Rsv-r £1800
2000 RSV-R - The R has all the trick Ohlins suspension and OZ wheels.
16000 miles (might be 18,000, could even be 14,000, I can't remember (will check)). Good side:- http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...v650s/RSV4.jpg Bad Side:- http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...s/DSC00108.jpg As you can see, it has been down the road. The basic story is that a mate owned it, he was approaching a roundabout and the throttle stuck open, so he just pulled more front, the bike needless to say went down ;) It is really just cosmetic, but the slight mark on the frame and ding form the exhaust in the swingarm sealed its fate as an insurance write-off. He bought it back off the insurance company, and I bought it off him (with a an additional contribution to aid his 'excess' payout). Since getting it, I have done:- - oil change - took the airbox off to reveal the carbs and cleared the non-return throttle (I think it was just some muck in the mechanism as it is sweet as a nut now) - new brake leaver - brand new front tyre (not even turned a wheel with it on). - fitted an indicator to replace the missing one - new (2nd hand) air duct - new (2nd hand) mirror. To my mind the only things left to source before it is ready to go is a Throttle side clipon (the one that is on there has a slight bend, just enough to stop the throttle returning smoothly under its own spring (it returns fine if you manually return it). This could well be straightened with a nice big bar :) It is then just national cosmetic, like I said the little air duct I already have, so its just a top fairing and side fairing to get it looking pretty good again. To be honest I intended to just get the clipon sorted and ride it like that!!! I'd then keep an eye out on eBay in slow time to source replacements for the scraped panels! I am not looking to make a profit, just move it on as I have had a change of heart/other projects. I need £1800 to get my money back - I am not going to ask any more. These bikes in A1 can go for well over £3k, even snotters go for £2k+ I am in no great need to sell it, but if I can get an easy sale to move it on then I'll take it. If no one wants it then I'll continue with it over slowtime ... should be awesome to ride and I only really need the clipon before MOT, so it is about there! :) |

oh and bike located in the PORTSMOUTH AREA
Just looked at the email I got from my mate when I got it from him, it says it was 16,500 miles. So the mileage is ~16,500 :) Oh and I have been asked what category write-off it was. It was a Cat C. |

If no one wants it, then for sure I'll get the clipon and get it on the road, the RSV-R is a true thoroughbred on the road ... even the little handbook keeps referring to 'if racing' do this, if racing do that ... so it's gonna be a monster 8) But if someone wants it then it is all well and good, I can always get another at a future date :) I am pretty easy about the whole thing, just trying to see if anyone was interested! :) |
