That's good news! At least he had the sense to realise that he shouldn't be out on the road any more. At least lets hope that keeps him off the road :p

I guess the police were going to go after him if he didn't

Great news.

I'd also say fair play to the guy for doing so- it must be a hard thing to do- give up your means to really get around and accept that you're no longer fit to drive. How many people don't do this because of their reliance of a car to get them about?

That would be a tough decision to make. Especially if you are older and rely on it to get you and your wife around. I couldnt imagine having to give up myself.
