anyone got a wii ?
the daughter has asked for one for Christmas so might get it now before the rush, are they any good? do they play as well as Nintendo say they do?
thanks daz. |
Re: anyone got a wii ?
We managed to get one as soon as they came out Daz. The game play isn’t up to serious game addicts requirements but the games are so addictive and everyone can play them. My youngest is 8 and he plays my parents who are in their 60’s. I don’t know who has more fun, them playing or us watching to be honest though.
We play the old gamecube games on it and I’ve downloaded some through the internet as well. It interacts with the kids gameboys and will go through a wireless internet connection giving a news channel and weather which I find easier to use the either text or internet. I’d buy another one no problem. In fact I wouldn’t wait till Christmas. Oh and don’t rush to replace your bike, I walked into my local dealer in Feb and walked out with a new 650 sport for a touch under £4000. Cheers, Alan. |

Re: anyone got a wii ?
I've got one a while back. Wiisports is one of the most addictive games ever. If you do get a wii do get a second Wiimote (controller). The wii is definitely best played with friends, 4 player tennis in wiisports is absolute mayhem.
And for £180 for the console including WiiSports + £30 for the extra controller it is an absolute bargain, if you are into games that is. |

£180 where from?

Re: anyone got a wii ?
Basically what Alan B said.
If you're a hardened gamer, the current crop of games will disappoint you. That said, it looks like it'll be remedied in the next 6 months with Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles (although a different sort of game Resident Evil 4 is the best "proper" game currently on the Wii, by a long way), Soul Calibur, Star Wars, Mario Kart and interestingly, Nitrobikes. This is a little-discussed title, but promises to be a blinder; it's made by the people who did the rather fun excitetruck and is a sequel of sorts to the best off-road biking game (half way between arcade and simulation, but still very good) ever, Excitebike 64. Believe the hype about everyone from 6 year old kids through to 90 year old women playing it. On more than one occassion we have had 3 generations all playing together at the same time on it. In this respect, it really is everything Nintendo promised. Top 3 'normal' games? Resident Evil 4, Warioware, Excitetruck Top 3 party/family games? Warioware (I know it's in the list above too!), Wii Sports, Rayman Raving Rabbids. |
Re: anyone got a wii ?
whats the best prices then and where from?
|
Re: anyone got a wii ?
Don't know where we got ours from but the wii is brilliant.
It's more family centred than other consoles out there - it's not for the hardened gamers that sit alone in a darkened room playing Quake 3-d all night. It's a bit more social! Loads of fun. |
Re: anyone got a wii ?
£180 is RRP but you're best off getting a package deal with the games you're going to buy anyway.
+1 on the extra remote but get it free with Wii Play |
