A moment in history.

Edit:

I think it is may be way too hard to simply select 1 incident. Why not we throw it so that each poster has a choice of 5?

I was just wondering if you were able to stand by, be present and observe any one particular incident in the history of mankind, which would you choose?

To help out of course categories among the following might prompt you:

Nature/Natural disaster/wonders.

Sport

Politics

Discovery

Science

Humanity

Religion

The arts

Media/movies/radio/TV/Music

Feel free to share and really no-one can question you as it is a pure personal choice.

9/11..

I would want to know the planning involved, i would want to hear the conversation that sparked the idea.. the people involved, the training they took.. everything.

I would also love to read some of the CIA's file on the matter. Definately a couple of 'holy crap!' moments in there..

9/11 was quite a shocking piece of history thanks to the prevelance of tv, the internet, mobile phones, etc, I watched the whole thing from just before the second aircraft went in, it has to be the most shocking thing I have ever seen. Ive actually got some photo,s on facebook of the tiles on the fence in greenwich village, they are very poignant, especially the last one.

p.s im in facebook as stew johnstone, im also in the sv650 group

Hmm to be honest, for me the answer is "none".
I'm to focused on the future and what it holds, it may sound weird but thats me :)

I would liked to have been involved in the taking back of normandy during the 2nd world war and actually survive.

The feeling those soldiers must have felt from start to finish must have been immense, and the scale of what they actually achieved equally as immense.

Its the most amazing and brave event I can think of that I can't even begin to imagine what it was like to be part of.

I'd of loved to have been there when they invented sliced bread, best thing ever!

It depends on whether I would be able to learn anything that I couldn't find out anyway. If not then for the sheer spectacle of it, I'd quite like to see Mount St. Helens' 1980 eruption in person (from a safe distance). Or if I could safely observe it, the dam buster's raid. Good question, it will keep me thinking :)

I understand the mediteranean became a sea when some a big bit of land gave way - be interested to see that.
And Krakatoa
And the moon landings (on a decent TV - I was 1 month old at the time)
Testing of the trinity project
And dinosaurs.
