brake rotors
how do you prevent rust forming on the rotors, due to cold temperatures

Re: brake rotors
ON the brake disc? You dont, coating woul;dnt be a good idea as that would stop the brakes form working
Keeping the bike covered is your best bet if its kept outside. If you get alot of rust forming, then rubbing down with some sandpaper is probably not a bad thing to do. Matt |
Re: brake rotors
On the actual braking surfaces then don't worry about it it'l rub off as soon as you use the brakes.
Around the rivets and stuff you could carefully wipe on some anti corrosion stuff, if you get a little on the discs then be careful as it takes some abuse before it'll burn off. But be very careful. Also +1 for keeping the bike covered. Hope you heard me there, if you use ACF50 anywhere near your brakes. Be careful. |
