Its awkward, you can get a dealer to supply and fit one for about ?120 around here.

From my understanding you need to cut into either the brake lines or engine vacum to get the pressure to feed the oil.

Sounds risky in the wrong hands.

Im eager to start learning the bike inside out though, so would love to be able to do it myself, or see it done first hand.


Anyone in/around Guildford done this themselves and can help me out?

The vacuum bit is easy (brake lines? Didn't know the SV was equipped with a servo :confused:)

Physically mounting the thing is probably the most challenging bit, that doing the drip feed for it as you have to take the axle nut off which some people are nervous of.

wasnt sure which it was on the SV hence saying it was one or the other.

Best bet is to look on the scotoiler website and download the instructions which are free, then decide whether you are capable or not.

Firstly I dont know what a spigot is, and that seems to indicate a failing on my behalf.

From a novice/amateur point of view, these instructions are not for me. I'll dig around to see if theres anything as easy as the "how-to's" on this (650.org) site before I do anything rash...

Pipe stuck out the side of the throttle body is the vacuum spigot

brake lines? No

Axle nut? No

It's easy. The only fiddly thing is getting the vacuum line on the back cylinder. Some scuffed knuckles is all. Reservoir can go under the seat, and the rest is plumbing.

The injector can be bolted on to the swingarm as per the scotoiler instructions using the bobbin hole.

I put a lubeman on my K7 and am very happy with it. That said I do 60-70 miles a day so I give it a squeeze every journey.
