How much should it cost........
I need a new chain and sprockets and am thinking about fitting a scottoiler at the same time.
How much should I be expecting this lot to cost me. |

scottoiler ?50 fitting 2 hours labour ?70-?90 or FIT it your self FREE |
Re: How much should it cost........
Was thinking of attempting the self fit route, but am not very experienced with the art of spanners. Is it a job that a noob should be attempting.

the scotoiler is fairly easy i would guess it will take you 1-2 hours, no special tools needed........ garage may charge 2 hours where abouts are you, as sombody on here may offer to do it for tea & biccys? |
Re: How much should it cost........
The scottoiler, ?60 & fit it yourself.
The chain & sprockets, depends on what you go for. Expect in the region of ?100 for both (for that money, I'd be getting steel sprockets - last longer than alloy). Then about another ?25 to fit them. Hovis, 1hour to fit C&S?? That might be the minimum charge, but it should only take them half an hour tops!! You can do sprockets & chain yourself, but you'll be needing tools (chain riveter, torque wrench - and the front sprocket can be a bugger to get off, so could need an impact gun). |
