Packed lunch

It's dawned on me how much £££ you can save by bringing sarnies and a carton of juice to work. Typical cost from a sandwich shop is £2.50 or so, more in London I spose. OK there's the cost of the stuff to make 'em, but there must be a saving of £10 or more a week. Or £40 a month, £480 a year - and that's out of taxed income.

Or go hungry, even better:cool:

Today's offering - tuna mayo & cucumber

Re: Packed lunch

I started on the Packed Lunch route ages ago, the wee shop near my old work was skinning me for about £4 a day on average... 4 x 5 = £20 a week...

Multiply that over, say a 47 (5 weeks holiday roughly?) week year... £970!!! Just on ONE meal a day at work!!

That'll be my Car AND Bike Insurance AND Road Tax paid for this year instead then!

I tried the sarnie route but get bored really quickly..instead I just buy a chicken salad and fruit from somewhere. I spend about £5/£6 a day on munch but considering I don't have a mortgage anymore, its affordable. If and when I get another house, the can's of spam are back on the shelves :(

I used to spend £6 a day with breakfast as well. I now buy a box of cereal and bring a lunch. I have anything from sangers, to salads, or mocrowave meals, and even a jacket spud as we have hi speed microwaves. alls good
