Re: Cadwell Park Celebration

Still see plenty of the old SV’s out on the road including an immaculate fully faired curvy last week.

Often think about getting another one. So simple compared to the newest stuff.

Re: The benefits of body armour...

Haven’t checked his sources but he may be right enough. I have upgraded armour for the simple reason that some of the cheap stuff is too bulky. I don’t think it makes sense that just because the...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

It’s pretty good for a 25 year old bike. Main thing was the plastics are in reasonable condition because they’re like hens teeth. All the smoky bits are still available.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Making some ethanol free petrol for the new two stroke. I’m fortunate to have a wife who just laughs and shakes her head. Her parting shot was “Don’t set yourself on fire. Again” [emoji23]

Re: SV650S project

You’ll need the bandit speedo drive too. It’s a mechanical one but fits on the SV spindle. This is late 90’s Bandit 600 I’m talking about. I don’t know about the newer ones.

Re: SV650S project

Definitely the easiest way to do it.

However, if you’re motivated to do the work just because you want to do the work (and I can relate to that) then crack on.

Get a decent socket set.

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Just got this delivered yesterday [emoji3]

Aprilia RS250. Same engine as the RGV but in a better chassis. A bit more roomy too - handy for the middle aged gentleman!

It’s not a project at the...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

That’s a good shout. It’s hanging at 90° and doesn’t look great.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

I’ve fixed the Optimate to the garage ceiling so I don’t trip over the trailing wire two or three times a day.

Only took 10 minutes but now feeling unreasonably pleased with myself. [emoji3]

My new bike : Fugly or Rolling Art?

Just swapped my R Nine T for this 2018 Husqvarna 701 Vitpilen.

First of all you need to tackle the looks. It’s not like anything else and definitely not for everyone.

Personally I love the...

Re: Why would rear dampers only be listed for '03 to '07

Not aware of a difference from 08 on. You could send Ohlins an email. They list it the same on their own website but might be able to tell you if there’s a particular reason for that

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

Nice. I was just reading Bike’s write up from last month and they loved it too.

They reckoned the R was a better all-rounder for the road than the RS. It has a clearer dash, that you might like,...

Pointy - No Brake Lights

Worth double double checking it’s not jammed on. If the white/black is the brake then shouldn’t it be zero without either of the switches activated? (I would have thought - guessing though)

Re: The Veg Plot.

The back of the shed door can be a handy place for a few bits and pieces.
