Question Kriega straps: where to loop them? Pointy.

Hi all,

I've just got a new Kriega US-10 tailpack - the one with the new hook-and-loop strap system.

I've been delving about under the seat cowl of my pointy, but I'm at a bit of a loss as to...

Re: Exhaust rattle?

Does it still have the metal guard on the link pipe at the bottom? The tabs that take the bolts can snap off pretty easily - then the bolt starts rattling around.

Re: Changing a screen on an SV650S

Holy thread resurrection!

I was beginning to pull my hair out fitting my new screen until I saw this thread. Kudos to all for the tips - they worked like a charm! I just wanted to say cheers. :-)

Re: Weird Whistling noise on K8 Sport.

Just a quick update to this.

I now have new front brake discs and pads, and both calipers had a thorough going-over (one of them wasn't sliding - until the salt and cramp was Dremelled out,...

Hiya,

Nope - it's never whistled on the stand. Quiet as a mouse (apart from the sexy V-twin roar). That was the initial thought, but it only makes the noise when it's rolling on tarmac....

Re: Weird Whistling noise on K8 Sport

A little update: I now have new front wheel bearings, which seemed to do the trick initially - but then the whistle returned, albeit much quieter than before.

I think that probably narrows it down...

Re: Weird Whistling noise on K8 Sport

Good suggestions - thanks! I did both of those, too.... and still he whistles. The thing is, nothing's changed since the chain and sprockets were done. If I'd been mucking about with the fairings and...

Question Weird Whistling noise on K8 Sport.

Hi all,

Bit of a conundrum, this. My K8 Sport emits a whistling noise above 40mph. It sounds like a speeded-up police siren (sometimes two at the same time), and happens in any gear, with or...

Re: Oxford Hot Grips not working.

I've found that sometimes raising the revs by 500rpm or so and then turning them on can sometimes do the trick....

Re: How do you do it? First Capital Ride.

This!

In the three years since I passed my test, probably 95 percent of my riding has been in and around Town (I do a year-round, daily commute). In many ways I actually prefer it to riding around...

Re: Watery eyes when riding

My visor is always down these days - ever since I had to go to Moorfields Eye Hospital to have a small piece of metal gouged out of my eyeball with a needle. :cyclopsani:

How about a pair of...

Re: Dunlop Sportmax Roadsmart

Yep, I'm definitely in the "if you don't trust your tyres, change them" camp. I went from the OEM rubber (awful) to Roadsmarts (brilliant), then to Michelin Pilot Road 2s, which I had absolutely zero...

Re: Am I the only one that annoys dogs with my bike?

I was riding along recently and a dog walking away from me with his owner heard me coming. First his tail started wagging a bit, then more, then MORE, then it turned round a bit and started going...

Re: Where is the fuel? Lifted fuel tank.

I was in the same boat the first time I lifted my tank to run the wiring for my heated grips, too.

"What the.... where does the fuel go?" Not knowing much about bike internals, I was expecting a...

Re: What was the first modification to your bike?

I had bungs fitted at the dealer when I bought it.

The first mod I made myself was to fit heated grips.

Re: Riding on motorways

I used to brick it on motorways until I put in a pair of earplugs (and, lately, custom-fit earphones). It's amazing how apprehensive the fatigue from wind noise can make you.

A decent pair of...

Re: first year riding ?

I've just passed the one-year mark and racked up 14,000 miles (mostly commuting through London, but a reasonable amount of "messing about miles", too).

Each more fun than the last, too!

Re: Friday nights

Great to meet y'all this evening! I'll get the coffees next time.

No thanks, though, to the silly woman who stepped out right in front of me as I was leaving and nearly made me fall off. :o Boooo!

I think I'll just go for it by myself this evening; I've never done the route before, so I don't want anyone to be sitting around in the rain waiting for me!

I do expect a hearty cheer and perhaps...
