So I'm looking at Fuelly and the average MPG for the SV650 is around 50. I'm getting 70. And I don't know why. I commute into London, 35 miles each way and varying speeds of motorway and...

Re: Fuel requirments ?

Doesn't the FI engine have a knock sensor to automatically set the timing according to the fuel that's in the tank?

Re: Stansted Airport help

You might whizz though or you might find a couple of holiday planes worth of screaming families in front of you at security.

As this is important to you I'd arrive 90 to 120 mi s before the...

Re: Bike won't start

Check the earth for the side side stand switch. - it's bolted on by the gear selector and gets me every time I take the sprocket cover off.

It's easy for the wire to either break or get a bad...

Re: Track bike, is it worth it?

I'm loving it as a beginners track day bike

To begin with I wouldn't say getting expensive 'sticky' tyres is worth it - just use the ones you have.

Suspension is definitely worth sorting out -...

Re: Advice on retaining cat B write off

There's a personal injury claim too, I guess? Many may not like the morals of it but hard cash is hard cash.

Re: fuel pump electic problems

If it starts ok once the fuel pump has power then it's not the battery. If the battery can turn an engine it can turn a fuel pump

There's a couple of switches the FP circuit goes through. My...

Normal running on a cool day has the bike at 75.

Around town it seems to rise and peak around 95. Today(hot day) it hit 102.

I can't hear the fan on - maybe it's quiet?

Is this normal and...

Re: Bike Won't Start!

Put it in diagnostic mode and see what code you get.

Have the kill switch set and having it in gear have lost me hours of my life I won't see again

Re: Battery and charging

I don't know what that means.

However, charge the battery for 24 hours and see what happens. Fully discharging batteries is bad for them and older ones never really recover. You could try it...

Re: EU Referendum

Those living abroad have everything to fear. If we leave their status will be indeterminate - any residency rights will be null and void if we leave. Access to recripicated healthcare arrangements...

Why do you think that by leaving we will be free of European rules? Have you spoken to say a Norwegian about this? I've been working extensively in Norway this year and they are completely bound by...

Re: 2005 'S' died while riding - no voltage - what to check ?

Testing with a bag of fuses will just start a fire. You want a multimeter to find out where the short circuit is.

This kind of thing happened to me in Nice once long ago. It turned out to be one...

Re: EU Referendum

Ok - I don't want to appear 'preachy' here so please don't take offence.

The U.K. is governed not by any written constitution but by the rule of law. Why are laws such a bad thing? It's what...

Re: Muhammad Ali - death of a true legend

Very sad. He was a stunning sportsman and a truly principled man, which irritated some and inspired many. I think it's the saddest loss this year.

No clothes? You're going to seriously stink.

Get a 2 person tent you can sit up in.(you never...
