Finally got round to sorting this. Got a newer model side stand and its identical in fit and length and angle to the frame. Only difference is the single foot bar as opposed to the u shaped foot bar...

Cheers Darren. I can pick one up off ebay for 20 quid so might chance the newer model and see if it will fit.

I have a K3 with a side stand that is rusting through and become very shakey around its pivot.


Are all the stands the same geometry/length?


I know the K3 has a different/higher rear but...

Just posting back up as its been a few months now since I did and engine flush using Wynns and then filled with the elf stuff I bought.

Not had a drop of oil vanish since. Problem solved.

Couple of months too late for me but they look the job for sure.

Its a job worth doing. Might be just placebo but my K3 feels much better in corners since removing the play.

So I finally got a chance to take a look this evening and thankfully one of the first things I checked was fuses. Ignition fuse had blown. Nice and simple.

Pirtek here in Dublin ripped me off for mine and there gone rust at the banjo seal as that bit must not be stainless. €96 after vat and they were wrongly fitting as a result of the guy crimping...

Cheers Bib and devil. Only reason I dont use halfords is cost. I can get the other oil for much cheaper.

Lets not turn this thead into the finer details of what oil does what. That has raised too...

Dont do anything until you have ruled out the battery. This used to happed to me a lot because the battery I had was rubbish.
You could always try a car battery if you had access to one and connect...

All done up to torque spec and no more play at all. There is a very light bind but the swingarm still falls under its own weight so I assume this negligible.
