Re: Tail Tidy Recommendations

Yeah, one of my mates got a J-Tech tail tidy for his Tuono, and he was impressed with it (as well as all the quality packaging, instructions, etc). I might give it a go and see what it's like. Will...

I'm looking for a tail tidy (21 plate) and have been looking at the various options.

Both R&G and Evotech are looking for about £80 for theirs, but J-Tech will do one for £27.99 !!!!

Has anyone...

Re: Sv650 goat?

I sold my K8 a year or so ago and missed it dreadfully, so have been looking for a new bike over the past couple of weeks. Got test rides on the Yamaha MT-07, Tracer 7 and the new Honda Hornet. ...

Re: Forum Changes ?

Cheers for the idea about filters - that brought much more up (even though most of them are a bit old now). The default is either less than it used to be, or there's simply less traffic through it. ...

Re: Forum Changes ?

Yeah, that all makes sense - it's a sign of the time I suppose. I hope the site lasts long enough to help me with any questions I have when I get sorted. But after two 650s and a 1000, I should know...

Forum Changes ?

I sold my SV in 2019 and have been off bikes since. Miss it like mad, so thinking about getting back into it again. Came on the forum to have a look at the 'For Sale' section but it, like several...

Re: Who is still about?

SV sold on Sunday after having it (and being on here) for 10 years. Now bike-less for the first time in over 20 years. Strangely not that fussed. Thought I'd be gutted ...

The details are -

Re: Who is still about?

Still here too, but also doing more pedalling than motor-biking. But the SV is extremely clean in the garage !!!

End can performance question

A few years back I had a Hornet 600 which was great, apart from a huge ugly end can. At the NEC show I bought an Art can for it which looked and sounded much better.

The only issue was that at...

Re: SV refurb questions

Andy, it's just the standard cowl. Maybe the angle makes it look different ?

Re: SV refurb questions

A mere 3 months later and the SV is back together again. Forks have new springs, oil and paint. Wheels have new paint. Need to organise braided cables, a hugger and an end can. Happy (and...

Re: SV650s k8 red seat wanted

I've got one in the garage. Took it off my black K8 and put a black one on it. It was in immaculate condition when I put it away, so doubt that's changed. PM me if it sounds like what you need.

Re: SV refurb questions

Head finally drilled off the offending mudguard screw. Then a nut welded to the stump which screwed off neat as you like.

Neither of which was done by me - its good to have talented friends with...

Re: SV refurb questions

It's a Warrior. Not sure where I got it from, but I just had a quick look on-line and Demon Tweeks are doing them for £40. I think I paid £28 for it so there may be deals out there. It's rock...

Re: SV refurb questions

A slight bit of success. Right hand bolt off (eventually), so I removed the forks, but with the mudguard still attached to the left fork.

Not ideal, but I can now put it in vice and access the...

Re: SV refurb questions

I found an old thread from 2013, which suggests that these bolts seizing is pretty common.

I put the wheels back on and took it off the stands so I could give it more than a gentle tap with the...

Re: SV refurb questions

Been busy last couple of days but went out today to take the mudguard and forks off - plan was to take everything round for powder coating.

Minor (I hope) snag. The mudguard bolts are properly...

Re: SV refurb questions

Cheers for the replies.

I was thinking of powder coating over painting because I thought that would be a more robust finish, and because there's a few powder-coaters near me. I'm open-minded...

SV refurb questions

I finally got myself motivated to tidy up my K8, and made a list of things to do -

Powder coat fork lowers
Fit new fork springs and change oil

Powder coat various other...

Re: Another electrical issue

Cheers for the link. Might be useful to have, although it's back to normal again (I've probably just jinxed it now !!!).
