"It sounds like you're trying to shift when the bike isn't rolling, which won't work on a motorcycle"

WTF do they mean by that? How do they ever manage to get their bike moving the first time they...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Absolutely. I'd hard it SORN'd since January to move the tax/MOT costs away from the new year/xmas period. It was great to be back on two wheels this week!

Re: Rebuild update.

If it's only small, it would probably end up as an advisory. My SV had an advisory down as swinging arm play on the last MOT it had before I bought it.

As it turned out, the swinging arm was...

I thought you programmed in your budget in to the little box yourself? Have no clue really since I told em to naff off, perfectly happy with my existing meter. Just that every time I see my Dad's one...

Re: New GSX-8S announced

Another one here who thinks it (and it's brethren from other manu's) looks pig ugly. WTF is this trend for giving half a pillion seat at a ridiculous height? Looks like the forgot to finish drawing...

Re: Floppy clutch lever?

What plates did you put in there? Suzuki or aftermarket? I've had issues in the past on other bikes with certain brands of clutch plates.

Re: Observant?

Same here. Have got used to it a bit more now, but was a real pain at first. I think I've also managed to accidentally hit the full beam too.

Re: Tyres for 1999 SV650 for first time rider

I can give you a what's not good, IMO - Michelin Pilot Road 4's. My bike came shod with a very unworn set of these. I took it up to a bike Rally in Derbyshire in July but I found the tyres lacking....

Re: Sv650 clutch slipping (clutch mantra doesnt fix it)

If the cable has stretched, it won't cause it to slip, you'll have the opposite, it won't release the clutch properly and will drag when you have the lever pulled to the bar.

Is the outer basket...

I have the M-Shock and am very happy with it. It was the final part of the transformation in handling after doing the forks.

Re: Adjust throttle, less on/off switch like?

Definitely do the TPS adjustment as per Seeker's link. Mine (2015 SL2) was a complete pig on slow corners and small roundabouts until I did this. Now I can roll the throttle off to a neutral position...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

One of the guys in my local bike club turned 80 last month. He is still riding an MT07, though he had to sell his Harley due to arthritis playing up when using the clutch. He still has his RD350 too.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

It's 7 years old now so I'm sure the warranty is long gone. As I've got a new shock arriving next week anyhow, I'm not too bothered but it is a bit ****.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Not sure what the previous two owners have been doing with the bike. The first one was a new rider as he had a restricter kit fitted from new (lots of paperwork came with it). The last MOT (200 miles...
