Re: Running problem driving me nuts!

Thanks Gary. I have to say it was the nicest bike to ride that I've had (after I did the straight bars conversion). Wonderfully neutral handling and quick enough for todays roads.

Thanks to...

@Bibio Just tried...

Re: Running problem driving me nuts!

@embee - Wow! that is good to read. I had ordered a pair of std plugs anyway, so I'll certainly get back and tell you if they are the silver bullet.

@R1ffR4ff - interesting that you mention those...

Re: Running problem driving me nuts!

Ugh, I'm still getting 404 on edge and chrome.

Anyway, I've changed the ht cap now, so we'll see if it makes a difference. The plugs look lovely (clean and colour) and similar too.

Bungs and...

Re: Running problem driving me nuts!

Hi @Bibio,

I am taking it apart today and will look at the bungs, and mechanically the carbs are balanced, yes.

As I said, the damn thing ran absolutely perfectly on the smallest of throttle...

Re: Running problem driving me nuts!

@Biker Biggles: thanks for your reply. Our minds work the same way. I took it apart the first time expecting to find blocked jets after standing two years, and found one but it was a main jet and I...

Re: Electrical gurus - help required.

Hi Bibio, long time no speak. Thanks for replying.
Whaaaat? You sure? If so, it is the only bike I've ever had that does that! My BMW F800GT doesn't for example. I see yours is a pointy - is it...

Re: New tech chain

IWIS are good chains, but you still have to worry about stopping them rusting.

Modern X or O ring chains don't have lubrication issues, they only have corrosion issues.

The Timken chains have a...

Hi guys, I've been reading about these new tech chains that BMW seem to be saying are only available on their crutch rocket. I found that Timken seem to be offering the same or similar.

My...

Re: Broken Radiator Bolt - SV650 1999

To the original poster: It looks to me like try the stuff above first, then use an easy-out. Your biggest problem is not being able to guarantee concentricity between the drill and the broken stud....

Re: Broken Radiator Bolt - SV650 1999

I just replaced my horn with a bigger louder one - I'm a bit worried about the mudguard clearing it on full compression. Any ideas R1ffR4ff?

Mine's same as yours.
