Just arrange separate breakdown cover. I use Autoaid which covers me on the bikes or in the car.

Obviously I've got fully comp on my year old SV, but I often rode alone with TPF&T cover on bikes...

By the time you are talking an excess that large on an ageing SV, then I would also be considering 3rd Party Fire & Theft cover, which always used to be far...
