Re: Curvy bar and problem.

They are welded in unfortunately. Does the "rubber jobbie" have the same size central screw?

Re: Stator test with low voltage output

I bought it from M & P, so I would expect a decent quality one for the price. Can't remember the make of it now though. I have been offered a refund or an exchange, but the DC lead has been cut off...

Re: Stator test with low voltage output

Oh well...it's not raining, so I can get the bike back together and take it out for a spin. I'm putting on a voltage display to the side of my dash in the black plastic, just to keep an eye on it. ...

Re: Stator test with low voltage output

I haven't moved the r/r, is there a better place to put it? I know it's not getting the cooling it needs, but it was a mosfet one, so I was hoping it wouldn't get so hot and need it. I had...

Re: Stator test with low voltage output

It seems to work well, a nice 14.5v on the battery. It's made my day :) Then it started raining. lol

Re: Stator test with low voltage output

I re-did the stator check, as I was doing it wrong...I was doing it to ground. At idle I have 30vac and 5000 revs its 100vac on all three pairs. Is this OK? I have a new r/r from a gixxer, is the...

Re: Stator test with low voltage output

That's what I'm thinking. It's always something...I've spent so much time fixing the bike that the summer has passed me by.

Re: Stator test with low voltage output

Yes, the r/r is disconnected. I used two different multimeters, so I know it works OK. Yes, it was on AC not dc. Definitely no continuity to earth. I've been reading a brilliant thread on here...

Re: Underwater SV

OMG, what a nightmare. I hope you can rescue it...as the battery wasn't in the bike, you may have saved the ecu. Good luck sorting it out.

Stator test with low voltage output

My battery has died due overcharging, so I've been doing test's to see what's wrong. I would say that my r/r is probably toast...it was a decent mosfet based one and only a year old, so there must...

Re: Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

Yep, I'm starting to think getting new springs is the way to go. 10w oil feels so much better and stiffer than 7.5, just a bit bumpier. Closing up the rebound holes without emus? What will that do...

Re: Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

It's a damn shame I wasn't part of this group when the Debrix emus were around. Oh well, at least I know a lot more about fork internals and damping than ever before...not a bad lesson eh? I'll sell...

Re: technical help

Is your exhaust pipe blowing? Not sure it would make that much difference? Was it at the front of the chain area or the rear? Is the tire under pressure or do you have a puncture? You'll have to...

Re: Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

I could sell these and buy the right fitting ones. Any idea if the 31mm ones fit?
Outer Diameter 31mm
Diameter for piston bore in the fork: 24mm
Height valve total: 16mm

Re: Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

I read that the 33.5 one were for the SV and heard it mentioned a number of times in various threads. I have a habit of being an idiot sometimes! lol I didn't even realise that the ends might be...

Re: Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

Not installed. I might make a little shim thing up to stabilize it...not gonna buy another. I'll fit a tube within a tube to get it to fit...as long as it doesn't get in the way of the emu damping,...

Re: Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

I put in 10w oil and it felt lovely and firm, but the damping was horrible...any small bumps I could feel more acutely. I'm going to mix into 7.5w and see what it feels like. I don't want it to...

Re: Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

I fear that you're right Adam. Oh well, I needed to do the fork seals anyway.

Re: Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

So frustrating, I read as much as I could on doing the emus and I'm a bit reticent about putting these ones in now . Will the O-ring give it stability? It's pretty much perching on the edge of the...

Re: Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

Just to keep them centered, don't want them slipping sideways. I'm going to experiment with the rebound hole...I'll leave it alone and see what it feels like, if I don't like it I'll put some...

Re: Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

I wasn't talking about the small rebound hole at the top of the damper, just the 4 main holes that need drilling out to 10 or 11mm.

Thanks Glang, I wasn't sure if the emu had to sit in the...

Re: Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

You have to drill out the damper rod holes to bypass the damping effect, the emulators take the place of the holes in the damper. I want them to work properly and seal at the end.

Installing YSS emulators on Curvy

I've just got around to sorting out my front forks and installing emulators. I bought 33.5mm YSS emulators and they don't fit well into the cup of the damper rod...just the tip of the seat fits. I...
