Re: Vintage film cameras

Swimming lessons (me), and eyeball-deep in pedals that need regreasing. The Spawn has just changed bikes and I've got bikes coming out of my ears, most of them with rumbly pedals. Going to turn some...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Blimey! You the lucky one just now alright. I'm going to sell the Contessamatic and Ensign Selfix 820, been taking some pics. The latter will go for serious money but the Contessamatic I'm willing to...

I've got a pair of 1999 heads I still haven't got rid of, no cams but otherwise ready to go, dunno if you're interested, 03 tensioners but you can have the 99 ones as well if you really want.

Re: Vintage film cameras

It's the one Jen got me for Christmas, the shutter is sticky, and the RF glass is so filthy you almost can't see the RF patch. I think the shutter works okay but needs cleaning up; the rest of it...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Frankenkenzie! You've had more luck than me. The rewind button/shaft on the Durst is still sticking, I can't take it out of the camera because of a busted screw. The new Ikonta shutter arrived, it is...

Re: Vintage film cameras

I did then realised I hadn't fixed the rewind release button. It's still in bits now, there's oil all over the place. I managed to get a little gear off the top and had to whack it with a hammer to...

Re: Vintage film cameras

500 pages of this thread! Just noticed.

Not got anywhere with the rewind of the Durst. Am hoping I can take a bit off the top and I can tap it with a hammer, right now I can't from below as the...

Re: which track.....

Rockingham is a good one to start, go for the national not International, the former is the same as the latter but without the pointless bit of oval tacked on. None of it is really fast, but it's...

We have that problem a lot in the vintage camera thread. I just go for a -kk instead of -ck, or just miss out the c

Re: Vintage film cameras

I farrked it up. I've slightly ovaled the middle element holder, the female part of the focus helicoid. the new shutter is off a Super Ikonta III which is very similar to my IV but no light meter...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Not yet, might have a go tomorrow. Might have found a replacement shutter, or at least a source of parts, for my Super Ikonta. Checking it out.

Re: Steering issues

Deffo. Be careful adjusting the tension in the new ones, too little obviously leads to knocking, too much means it's wobble at low speed (e.g. walking speed) as the bars can't move freely enough....

Re: Vintage film cameras

I would normally say don't lube the blades but some people do use graphite powder. The blades are fairly clunky compared to a normal leaf shutter though. I'd say do without unless it has problems. If...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Kiev might be a job but I think there is plenty of info out there about it and the Contax ii. Good luck with the haze, I'd go for lighter fluid and methanol, failing that it could be fungal and...

Re: Vintage film cameras

I've been trying to fix stuff and it's gone nowhere. I bought a Zeiss Contessamatic a while back, not bad but the meter is dead. Turns out the selenium cell is fine (I think) but the meter itself...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Looks like one my 820 Selfix would produce. That too is hard to frame, the finder is about the right coverage but it ends up witt too much foreground

The Lordomat is said to be a nice camera. I'm also trying to resist the GAS, it's not like I need anything. Except perhaps a Konica Pearl... there's always Christmas!

Put the Automatica back...

Re: Vintage film cameras

They're on Flickr, look pretty bad really and after the carp I got out of the Contessa LKE with hazy lenses, in reality I know I'd be wasting my time. Some day I'll have a go at polishing the...
