Not saying this is surely the case with a modern MOSFET one, but don't risk it.

Re: Curvy cam cover seals?
Don't think I've ever fitted new ones except if someone was being very picky and wanted them!
Screwdriver in the gap is a bit of a butchers method! Try a plastic bicycle tyre lever or something......

Re: Corrosion on engine exhaust mounts
Wire brush the loose stuff off and leave well alone unless you really need it off. gob everything in ACF50.
Biggest reason for needing to take pipes off is to remove swingarm to do bearings.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?
I don't miss that awkwardness on DRZs! Awful design!
Bleeding I allus just conventional bled down from the reservoir, never had any problem as long as you keep in mind that air rises, so you...

Re: Electric/Mechanical gremlins?
The tensioners may rattle but that doesn't make them crap, there's a sleeve inside that rattles about, very rare to see one actually fail.
Electrics wise, if you've got flickering lights etc then...

Re: PLY Smart helmet
In the event of a crash do not remove a motorcyclists helmet.
Unless the cheap chinese lithium battery contained in it is on fire.

Re: we've come out on top...
As the murdoch types do love to villify benefits culture and almost certainly blow it all out of the proportion which it actually exists... It really does exist. I grew up around enough of the fking...

Re: Noisy Cam chain?
Glad you got sorted. Seems you seriously dodged a bullet with the skipped timing. That is rare, and generally causes immediate engine death.
That's rubbish. There's no way "load" on the...

Re: Curvy Carb heater circuit
Didn't even know the heater circuit had a diode!
I've left them unplugged, and also built custom looms that didn't have them, never made any difference. Didn't stop carb ice when they worked...

Re: Noisy Cam chain?
It is function of it. Curvy tensioner has a threaded bar down the middle, pointy one has a ratchet pawl.
Curvy one you need to rotate it round to slacken it off, pointy one you take the spring out...

Re: Noisy Cam chain?
Don't just go start putting random formulations (a lot of which are snake oils) in your oil before actually fixing the fault.
Running your oil low did not wear your cam chain out, no bloody way....

Re: Noisy Cam chain?
Cam chain is a big job, I can't remember completely but I think it may mean removing the head.
I did one on a K5 or therabouts. Other option could be a broken cam chain guide/tensioner follower...

Can't really tell from the video but it does sound...

Re: Rearsets.
Those in pic look roughly the same as stock S model ones in terms of position.
Most aftermarket rearsets are made to be higher and further back for a sportier position and more ground clearance...
