I use ACF50 on all parts like this and my Rad hoses.Keeps them from corroding and decaying.

Mine have never been in that state as the bike has been coddled but the Original downpipes are superb quality so can come back great.

Yeh there's load's of Home-stuff tricks like Vinegar etc but the Max 10 is really potent.You can even use old Brake fluid.

Fuel companies change their blends in winter.Any weaknesses in the fuel delivery/Ignition system can get shown up so go through the usual e.g Air-filter/Plugs and connections.

They just got back to me and have said that I am still insured and if and when I renew they will move to another underwriter.No explanation but at least it has put my mind at ease and was well worth...

As per my other post BIB I've written off any compo etc.

I've contacted Quodos and my Broker,"BikeSure" and will see what they say.

I've started the thread so anyone else who might be insured...

I've never had this happen before and I've been lucky.My SV is off the road at the moment(SORN) e.g Winterized and has not been ridden after the Bankruptcy date.

It's quite common with electrical problems that one part drags down another over time.When my R/R went it took the battery with it :(

I fitted a Mosfet one and chronicled it just in case

I had a faulty plug cap that limited the Bike to around 5,000 revs/60 Mph on an old Honda :O

Test the Spark plug caps.Brand new they should read 5k ohms.Anyhing North of 8k ohms and I replace them.
