Also spotted Glenturret, sherry cask. I finished my last one a few years back and haven't replaced it. Gonna have some fun with this lot.

I'm looking to buy a decent bottle of something that isn't the usual mainstream whisky. For preference, one of the Islay whisky's - I like the heavy peaty flavour.

Highly unlikely to be able to...

Jura on offer in the Co-op for £17.99 AND I was told not to pick one up. Guess there's one already wrapped for Xmas day

Dalwhinnie is just too nice...

This afternoon I've been sat sniffing and coughing, and now have a very large glass of my favourite. A Glenturret. Very pale, and who sooooo nice.

Lagavulin, double matured... yep, hate you loads... not jealous. Wish I'd stayed up there on Friday and helped you with a more mature opinion, i.e. from an old barsteward.

Lidl have been doing Jura for £19.99.

I only drank to excess.

Just back in from The Mill, finished the meal off with a superb large single malt.

You are right in that on occasion you should add a bit of water but ideally it should be water from the source used in the whisky. Next best thing would...

Tried Springbank(?) in The Grill bar in aberdeen a couple of weeks back, recommended by one of the locals. Very impressed, especially as there was no furry tongue the following morning.
