Re: Carb vacuum

Petcock.....maybe? It's just occurred that if I apply a vacuum, I can check the outlet.
I did have fuel in the oil before, but since buying the carb bits & getting the float heights set, that's...

Re: Carb vacuum

Yes on the sidestand, but a piece of wood under the stand. Before I took the hose off, it looked like it was leaking at the tank output. Re-fitting, running bike, couldn't stop the leak. It's not...

Resurrecting this, - not specifically for vacuum this time. I bought the petcock last year, got the float heights set, & the bike was fine. The bike was unused October to Feb, but partner wanted MOT...

Re: Carb vacuum

Carbs are very clean inside. Someone's been in them as the float bowl screws are slightly mangled.
The plunger on the float needle valve repair kit are significantly stiffer. ??
I watched a vid on...

Re: Carb vacuum

......a lot of bits in the rebuild kit. Is it all easy to replace, therefore should I replace everthing, including the rear carb, which seems to be ok.
Should the main needle be changed....the bike...

Re: Carb vacuum

Thanks R1ffR4ff (http://forums.sv650.org/member.php?u=24610). It's my partner's bike & kept at my place, & did notice the oil level was high, & have since changed it again after it flooded the...

Re: Carb vacuum

As you posted this I was finishing reassembling the tank 'tap'. It was seeping with the new vacuum bits in it.

After taking the airbox off again last night, the front carb was flooded. What...

Thanks for the diagram. Can you elaborate on "If you take the pipe off the Petcock does fuel flow.?"

Can you explain why when main pipe from tank is disconnected, the tank only empties at a...

Re: Carb vacuum

Yep, thought so, the o ring in the valve had become cone shape. It's been replaced, & seems better, but with a full tank of fuel there's a leak......suspect it's the carbs. But if the vacuum's...

Carb vacuum

I posted in another thread about finding fuel in front cylinder intake & it was hydrolocked.
I've read about the vacuum from the rear carb working the 'tap' on the tank.
Engine stopped or running,...

Re: Engine won't turn - stuck.

I didn't use as high as 6th. I was familiar with doing it on a 1000cc Ducati, which was relatively easy. Now that the cylinder is clear of fuel I tried it again, & it's more difficult to do it with...
