aren't fork stanchions chromed?
I've owned 6 bikes with chrome exhausts without any pitting problems. I assumed they stopped using it widely because it's a nasty polluter.

you can't just post half a story. What is strange about it?

I have an Abba stand and it's mostly 90 bends with the exception of the front "props" which stop the bike from going too far forward...

My header is clean because I don't have a social life and I polish it relentlessly with Solvol. If you want a social life I recommend you don't keep your header shiny.

It's expensive, I'll grant you that. On the other hand; 105 bhp on a 158kg bike, with carbon fibre wheels (and everything else). Brembo brakes, Ohlins suspension, quick shifter (up/dowm), 6 axis...

When I was in the RAF I had a friend with an MZ (East German), the 250cc single, two stroke. It came with a workshop manual and had diagrams in the back for making any special tools you might need...
