Re: Brake fluid musings
Hmmm Ive never seen one of those in a car only on bikes and I assumed it was because theyre more exposed to the elements but maybe it depends on the manufacturer...

Re: Brake fluid musings
I do like the flexible rubber seal used in motorcycle master cylinders and I think this helps keep the fluid dry compared with cars which in general just have an vent open to atmosphere to allow for...

Re: GSX-8R video review
Hmmm, he said he thought the shock was starting to get overwhelmed on the road and so on track would really suffer - only a different shock is going to stop that....

Re: GSX-8R video review
A bit worrying that he says increasing rear shock preload improved things for the track but as we all know doing that just raises the position the bike sits at! It has no effect on spring response or...

Re: Bike cuts out after revving
well the movement sensor is on the other end of the STV so the motor can do what it likes but its the butterflies (well at least their shaft) that have to move to produce the correct signals...

Re: Bike cuts out after revving
yes there should be a certain voltage read from the STV position sensor by the brain at closed and then another at fully open. If these two values seen in the test arent within limits it should give...

I believe the full travel of the butterflies is necessary to confirm the correct span readings from the position sensor and if thats not achieved I would have expected it to throw up a fault code...

Re: SV650S Fork leg bottom bolt leak
Yes my eyes keep wandering to CBR500Rs or 660 Tiger Sports but the old SV just keeps on and really does everything I need although it is looking a bit worn now especially after spending 5 days under...

Re: Front fork Springs help
Well if your sag is correct with the OEM spring I dont think you can get much better no matter how much you spend on a replacement. Going to a linear would mean that under a given force the shock...

Re: Front fork Springs help
yes but to keep the shock in the correct position the first third of the spring should be used up with the weight of bike and rider (the same as if it was a linear spring) then after that the spring...

Re: Front fork Springs help
I cant see why progressives make dive worse as surely thats down to damping again? A spring of what ever type compresses a certain amount with the weight its supporting and then when its subject to...
