Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

I changed the front hoses on my sv a few weeks ago, just bled them down from the reservoir, no problems with it all.

Italian rear brakes, the 2 that spring to mind are the Raptor and the Mille....

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Nice blow torch, I have the same one although a little worse for wear after being used nearly every day for about 15 years.
Needs a refurb kit putting on it at the moment

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

I reckon I’ll need to either refurb or replace the rear calipers before the next mot

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Tinkering last week involved trying to sort the handbrake on the X-trail as it was only working on one side, failed the mot because of it. Rear discs and pads weren't looking great either so figured...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

That's exactly why I normally raise the tray on a frame.

The last one I did I fitted a low profile shower trap made by Wirquin, something like 40mm in height

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

No not all trays are fitted on legs, most of the lighter acrylic trays are but not a stone resin tray. I normally build a frame for them to sit on.
Issues with shower wastes are quite common which...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Oh it's one of those ones, I've had a few of them in my time like having to replace 8" floor joists that have rotted almost all the way through, tiles on tiles straight onto bare brick

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

I had intended to service the car and van today but I couldn't kind the sump plug keys so no oil change, then couldn't find the new filter for the van so decided I'd tinker on the SV.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

You can push them out with compressed air, I’ve used a 12v tyre inflator before to push pistons out. But it will depend on how crudded up/seized they are.
If you’ve not got a compressor then yes...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Nothing much bike related (wheel bearings on my van, not a fun job) trimmed the screen to clear the renthal bars, trimmed the renthal bars and fitted new bar ends

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

The top yoke was from eBay, company called Moto-cnc and was £130. It’s nice but the way the ignition barrel attaches is a bit rubbish.
Not sure if they do a specific one for the Sv as mine has Gsxr...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Have been sorting out all the bits for doing my bar conversion so figured if I’m swapping the brake hoses I might as well swap the callipers as well. One of the current calipers has a snapped bleed...

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

I've got brake hoses and throttle cables from a naked and just ordered...
