Re: Vintage film cameras

Scam email could just be a screen scraper that saw the sale end. I have pics on Flickr but not a lot I think. Have got to grips with the NAS now so this is our store at home. Also have cloud access...

Re: Curvy Stator Issues. Bike cuts out

Fair dos. The sticking choke is mainly the plungers themselves, mine builds up a bit of crap where the plunger seats so it won't shut off properly.

Re: Curvy Stator Issues. Bike cuts out

When you say the carbs were balanced, you mean after they went back on the bike? Because there's no other way to do it. Regarding jetting, it could probably do with some rejetting to match the can...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Hmm maybe 9.99 with a reserve? Or even 99p. High SPs don't work, or do it as a fixed price

Re: Vintage film cameras

A week. I've thrown Poundland rolls in for local listings like Facebook pages but it's not necessary on Ebay. I think a 10 day listing will just try peoples' patience TBH.

Re: Curvy Stator Issues. Bike cuts out

NP man. Think of the rule of two, how do I divide my problem? And the rule of one, change one thing at a time.

Re: Vintage film cameras

Sunday 8-9 is good, you get the whole weekend of coverage. Bank holidays are best (so Monday night), people will go for it. Other than that, plenty of good pics including through the VF, and if you...

Re: Curvy Stator Issues. Bike cuts out

The stator has no contacts, it's like a brushless motor. Provided the wire is coiled around it and its insulation is fine, it'll work. If your RR is a MOSFET one then it shouldn't get as hot as a...

Re: Flickering headlights

You may be right Ophic. The replacement does fit in there but it's bigger. It sits above the rear brake fluid reservoir. It's pretty clean under there, which while being a good thing does imply it...

Re: Flickering headlights

I plumped for Electrex again, it is model RR85 for the curvy. There was a secondhand one on ebay but it's for the later 650/1000, but I found it at M&P for 15 less than the direct price. Battery...

Re: Curvy Stator Issues. Bike cuts out

It's not the relay I'm referring to, but the plug on the wiring that takes off the relay:

Re: Curvy Stator Issues. Bike cuts out

Not looked in until now. Agreed connecting a second battery should rule out electrical problems, however the main connector on the starter relay that takes power to the loom can go, so unless you...

Re: Flickering headlights

On the Electrex World site under "technical" they have a good R/R test page. I don't have the diode test function on my mutlimeter so used resistance instead. With the black probe on the battery...

Re: Flickering headlights

Connected a digi voltmeter to the battery and went for a ride to Tescos, about 5-6 miles away. Battery was about 12V, rising to 13.5V when running (though not at tickover). Was steady for the first...

Re: Photo Comp - Chat Thread

Littleoldman, it doesn't have to be too complex, just something a bit off the wall.

was wondering the same about Keith's pic. I have a personal hatred of HDR, though his looks good - as he says,...

Re: Anybody know about setting up Probate?

Definitely. Thankfully my dad's affairs weren't too complex. I'm now clearing out his filing cabinet though, I know I don't need Spanish phone bills from 2009 but am wondering just how much back info...

Re: Vintage film cameras

Finally went out for a golden hour walk with my daughter the other evening, while it was still mild. Took my Pentax Super A with Lomo 800 and f1.2 lens to try to grab maximum low light. Going to be a...

January Photo Comp - Hit and Hope

Another feature of my photography, particularly with film, is experimentation, so that is the theme of this month's photo comp. This can, as ever, be taken almost anywhere. For me it is often around...

Re: Flickering headlights

Hmm thanks whysub, it is an Electrex one which I believe is a MOSFET modern type. I could disconnect it and ride on battery power and see how it is. Yes lights get brighter and stop flickering when...
