Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

I've done about 600 miles on it now, including two track days (got my knee down!). The more I ride it the more I love it. Took me a while to get used to the brutality of the engine and the stiffness...

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

The weekend of July 13th will be my first on the road with the RC8, so I'll be looking for any excuse for a ride out!

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

I'm always up for track days! Bedford Autodrome is my local track. I've done one day so far this year and am booked on the focused events day on July 8th...

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

I think you're right. I'm only a stick man so it probably needs softening a bit! Anyone know a good (and cheap) suspension technician in east midlands/anglia?

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

Plenty of people seem to tour on them. The guy I bought it from had done trips to France and Spain. I've only ridden it once so hard to say at this point but it felt like there was less weight on my...

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

So the verdict on the RC8 :D

As soon as you get on it you can feel that it's an awesome bit of kit! The engine is an animal, the shift light came on at 72 in first and about 115 in second! Lovely...

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

I got it for a very good price actually! I'll tell you how much when I see you :)

It's an 09, done under 3000 miles, owned from new and has a full Akrapovic titanium exhaust system and a tracker....

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

Howdy all, it's been a while!

Just had a fun day on the SV at Bedford Autodrome. Probably one of the last rides I'll have on her as I've gone to the orange side and bought a new bike! :D

Are...

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

I'm not looking to buy new - I'd rather someone else take the depreciation hit when they ride it out of the dealer forecourt! You can get a low mileage RC8 for under 6k now - quite a few people are...

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

I've been trying to work out what bike to buy next and I've narrowed it down to two, both KTMs! It's either an RC8 or a 990SMR. To be honest I'd like both, the RC8 for track days and the SMR for...

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

Don't worry I'm easily pleased! :D

So how about Wednesday? The weathermen have changed their minds (again) and it looks like it's going to be a nice day!

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

Sunday should be good for me (providing the weather isn't terrible!). Would be nice to finally put a name to a face KJ :)

I'm up for that. Think I'd best book a B&B for the night as it's about 2 hours away!

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

I've been in Saudi Arabia for three weeks - didn't see a cloud for the entire time! I wouldn't fancy riding over there though, the standard of driving leaves a lot to be desired!

Here's a...

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

I did a couple of observed rides at the end of last year with the Northampton IAM. It was useful to get some constructive criticism on my riding and see some of the roadcraft techniques in action.

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread

I can't promise that I'll be there - it all depends on the DVLA pulling their finger out and I need to get the bike MOT'd and taxed on the day before (first day I can ride again!).

Can't believe...
