Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Gary, more putting off until I have no choice, than busy.
My rear brake hadn't seen any movement of the pedal for about 5 months! The front brake and engine brake count as a vehicle having two...

Re: chain plastic slider

But at 54,000 miles I think it'll out live the rest of the bike.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Yesterday's efforts - New rear tyre, new chain and sprockets and a rear brake that actually works. Might need to get some fresh fluid as it's a bit spongy.

Front tyre to do tonight, and a bit of...

Re: AL7 at 20,000 miles

20k miles - I wish my bike had 20k miles.
If you like it so much just keep it and carry on riding it. It sounds like you look after it so it'll be good for ages and ages.

Mine (SK6) has 54,000...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

That does sound bad, but no it's worse. There is an entertainer call Mr Happy. And he keeps getting the kid's chant. Mr Happy makes me happy. Which is a, wrong on too many levels. But b, he's really...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

I get paid last Friday of the month, all the bills come out on the 2nd.
I'm practically skint by the 3rd, and repeat every month.

And I had to buy a set of tyres and a new chain and sprockets...

Re: The running thread.

Got out this morning!

Yay.

Only 3.6 miles as physio instructed short and slow.
It was amazing to get some air and head space. I really missed it. Even got a top up double dose of nettles.

Re: The running thread.

Physio says I can run again. Albeit not very far, not very fast with a shortened stride. But it's better than nothing. I have to build up the damaged muscle not do more harm. He was happy with my...

Re: Central Heating Boilers:

I'm on my second Vaillant boiler. To be fair I did move house.
Both properties had a prehistoric boiler when we moved in. The house we are in now had one that was part of the worktop in the kitchen....

Good man.
Well I've got my 3 week appointment on Friday with the physio. Hopefully he says I can get out again. Going insane now.

Re: What have you tinkered with today?

Darren just drill that central lug out, drill a hole in the wall and screw another hook in the plug.
Sorted.

Oh and face the helmet forward.

Re: The running thread.

Well done, currently back in Norfolk for the weekend and it's killing me that I'm not allowed to run. We did go for a 7 mile walk today, half of it with a 4 year old on my shoulders. What made it...
